Support when it’s needed most.
Everyone hits tough patches at some point, and even the strongest teammates can find themselves under pressure. Life after rugby can bring unexpected challenges, and sometimes a bit of extra help makes all the difference.
Hardship support for Hurricanes players, staff, management, and whānau is managed by the Rugby Players’ Support Trust. The Trust provides practical financial and material assistance for those facing genuine hardship.
I didn’t know who to talk to and where to turn but when I reached out they were so helpful.
“I would personally like to thank the Hurricanes Alumni for the support and advice that they gave me when I was struggling. I didn’t know who to talk to and where to turn but when I reached out they were so helpful. They organised some accountancy advice and helped me with a tricky situation. I can now look forward to the future. Thanks so much”
HARDSHIP GRANTS
Hardship Grants are available to ease the pressure during unexpected challenges, providing practical support for our Hurricanes whānau.
How it works
Applications are assessed on a case by case basis, taking into account individual circumstances, previous contribution to Hurricanes rugby, and the resources available. All support is reviewed and approved by the Rugby Players’ Support Trust Board.
