Hardship
grants
Support when it’s needed most.
Everyone faces challenges from time to time, and even the strongest teammates can find themselves under pressure. Life after rugby can bring unexpected difficulties, and sometimes extra help is needed to get through tough times. The Hurricanes Alumni Foundation Trust provides Hardship Grants to support players, staff, management, and whānau facing genuine financial difficulty.
These grants provide financial or material support to alumni facing hardship. Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis, considering the individual’s needs, their contribution to Hurricanes rugby, and the resources available.
I didn’t know who to talk to and where to turn but when I reached out they were so helpful.
“I would personally like to thank the Hurricanes Alumni for the support and advice that they gave me when I was struggling. I didn’t know who to talk to and where to turn but when I reached out they were so helpful. They organised some accountancy advice and helped me with a tricky situation. I can now look forward to the future. Thanks so much”
